BREAKING: A man has been arrested following a violent stabbing incident in San Diego’s East Village near the City High School Stadium early this morning. The San Diego Police Department (SDPD) confirmed the arrest of Hollis Hunt at approximately 7:59 AM after he allegedly attacked another male.

According to the SDPD press release, the victim sustained a one-inch laceration to his left upper arm during the altercation. Witnesses reported that the attack occurred as the victim was leaving the parking lot of the stadium located at 1313 Park Blvd. The suspect, described as a white male in his 50s, was seen wearing a baseball hat, a black jacket, and shorts.

Police quickly responded to the scene and located a man fitting the suspect’s description at 1600 C Street. Upon apprehending him, authorities discovered a knife protruding from his pants pocket, prompting an escalated response. Due to the suspect’s non-compliance and the presence of the weapon, officers deployed less lethal rounds and released a police service dog to assist in the arrest.

Hunt now faces multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon and obstructing police. After undergoing a medical evaluation, he was booked into the San Diego Central Jail. The SDPD’s Central Division is currently leading the investigation into this incident.

As of now, law enforcement officials are urging anyone with additional information related to the stabbing to come forward. Tips can be reported directly to the Central Division or through Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.

Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story as more details emerge.
