URGENT WEATHER UPDATE: A significant weather shift is underway as San Diego braces for cooler, breezier conditions with patchy morning fog today. A low-pressure system is moving in from the west, bringing marine-layer drizzle and potentially impacting visibility during the morning commute.

As of 2 p.m. today, residents may experience virga — rain that evaporates before reaching the ground. Expect a few sprinkles tomorrow morning as the system continues to influence Southern California’s weather. Visibility could be reduced due to fog, making morning travel challenging.

Temperatures are projected to remain in the low 70s along the coast and mountains, with valleys reaching the mid-70s. Winds will intensify this afternoon, with gusts hitting 22 MPH along the coast and valleys, and up to 30 MPH in mountainous and desert areas.

As the low moves out to the northeast, it will bring spotty rain and snow showers to the central and southern Sierra. However, San Diego will see a transition to drier and warmer conditions starting Thursday, with temperatures rising through the weekend under weak high pressure.

Looking ahead, a significant warm-up is expected on Monday and Tuesday of next week, with highs reaching the mid to upper 70s along the coast and potentially mid to upper 80s in valley areas.

In just two weeks, daylight saving time will end, with the clock “falling back” an hour on November 2. The sun will rise at 6:07 a.m. and set at 4:56 p.m. in San Diego, marking a shift in daylight hours.

Stay tuned for updates as this weather pattern develops, and be prepared for changing road conditions due to visibility issues and wind gusts. Share this urgent weather update with friends and family to keep everyone informed!
