On October 23, 2025, Ford Motor Company announced a recall affecting more than 163,000 Bronco vehicles due to a potential defect in the driver’s seat. This defect involves a loose or dislodged seat frame height-adjust pivot bolt, which can pose serious safety risks in the event of a traffic accident. Owners of the affected models will receive initial notifications starting on December 1, 2025, followed by further instructions regarding repairs.

This recall is part of a challenging year for Ford, marked by a significant number of vehicle recalls. According to data from the Department of Transportation (DOT), Ford has recorded over 134 recalls in 2025 alone, surpassing previous years and raising concerns about customer trust and safety.

Details of the Bronco Recall

The recall specifically targets Ford Bronco models manufactured between 2021 and 2023. The official recall notice indicates that the issue with the front seats could lead to inadequate occupant restraint during a crash, increasing the likelihood of injury. The notice states, “A seat with a dislodged bolt may not properly secure an occupant in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.”

Starting October 28, 2025, owners can verify if their vehicle is impacted by entering their vehicle identification number (VIN) on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website.

Ford’s Response and Next Steps

In its announcement, Ford outlined the steps it will take to address this issue. Affected vehicle owners will receive two notifications: the first will inform them about the safety risk, while the second will provide details on the repair process. According to Ford, “Dealers will replace the swivel links and bolts free of charge.” Owners are encouraged to contact authorized dealers to arrange for repairs. For additional inquiries, Ford has established a customer service line at 1-866-436-7332.

For further information regarding the recall, individuals can visit the NHTSA website and search for campaign number 25V721000.

Potential Legal Implications

While Ford has stated it has not received any reports of injuries linked to this defect, the situation remains under scrutiny. Action NS is monitoring the recall closely, as there is a possibility of class-action lawsuits arising from affected consumers.

As Ford navigates this challenging period, the company aims to ensure the safety of its customers and restore confidence in its vehicles.
