Stewart Cink triumphed at the PGA Tour Champions’ season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship held on March 15, 2025, at Phoenix Country Club. With a final round score of 4-under 67, Cink secured the championship and the prestigious Charles Schwab Cup season points title, finishing the tournament at 20-under 264.

Cink’s performance outpaced Steven Alker, who led after the third round but faltered with a 70 on the final day. Alker bogeyed the crucial par-5 18th hole, ultimately finishing two strokes behind Cink. This victory marks Cink’s third win of the season and his fourth overall in just 36 starts on the 50-and-older tour.

With eight previous victories on the PGA Tour, Cink is perhaps best known for his playoff win over Tom Watson in the 2009 British Open. The 52-year-old golfer’s recent success on the Champions Tour highlights his continued excellence in the sport.

In a tightly contested tournament, Freddie Jacobson (66), Jerry Kelly (67), and Tommy Gainey (68) each finished tied for third place at 15-under. Their performances underscored the competitive nature of the event, bringing together some of golf’s most seasoned players.

Cink’s victory not only adds to his accolades but also solidifies his position in the Champions Tour landscape, showcasing his ability to compete against a field of formidable golfers. As the season comes to a close, the spotlight now shifts to the future, with Cink looking to build on this momentum in the upcoming year.
