Scott County Honors Fallen K9 Denali at Memorial Service

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office hosted a memorial service on March 25, 2024, to honor K9 Denali, who recently passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. The service took place at Cornerstone Church in Eldridge, Iowa, drawing a gathering of law enforcement personnel and family members who came to pay their respects.

Denali’s funeral procession commenced from Creekside Veterinary Hospital, where the beloved K9 was treated, and concluded at the church. The event was limited to close friends and family due to space constraints, underscoring the profound impact Denali had on those who knew him.

Sworn in as a K9 deputy in June 2021, Denali served alongside his handler, Deputy Brian Waggoner, assisting in various law enforcement activities including drug detection and community engagement.
