Baltimore Ravens Face Third Consecutive Game Without Lamar Jackson
Quarterback Lamar Jackson will miss his third consecutive game as the Baltimore Ravens prepare to face the Chicago Bears on Sunday. Jackson’s absence is due to a hamstring injury that has sidelined him for the past two weeks. Although he participated fully in Friday’s practice, he was later downgraded to a limited status, indicating that he is not ready to return to game action.
Sources informed ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Jackson is expected to make his comeback on Thursday evening against the Miami Dolphins. The Ravens’ coaching staff is mindful of the short week ahead, which played a role in the decision to hold Jackson out for this weekend’s game.
The Ravens will rely on backup quarterback Tyler Huntley, who steps into the starting role against the Bears. Huntley has experience in this position, having started five games last season for the Ravens, achieving a record of 2-3 while completing 86 of 133 passes for a total of five touchdowns. He also has a playoff start under his belt, showcasing his ability to perform under pressure.
Huntley’s familiarity with the Ravens’ offensive system could prove advantageous. In the 2022 season, he earned a spot in the Pro Bowl, further highlighting his capabilities as a reliable backup. His previous experience starting in place of Jackson will be crucial as the Ravens aim to secure a victory against the Bears.
As Baltimore’s offense adjusts to Huntley’s leadership, fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see how the team adapts without its star quarterback. The Ravens hope that Jackson’s recovery will progress smoothly, allowing him to return to the field soon, especially with a crucial matchup against the Dolphins looming on the horizon.
