NFL Trade Candidates to Watch Ahead of November Deadline

As the NFL trade deadline approaches on November 4, 2023, various teams are beginning to assess their rosters, identifying which players might be on the move. Several candidates have emerged, particularly among teams with less-than-promising seasons thus far. Here’s a look at some of the most intriguing trade possibilities as the clock ticks down.
Key Trade Candidates from Struggling Teams
The Washington Commanders are facing critical decisions regarding their roster. With the return of offensive lineman Sam Cosmi from injury, the team has an excess of former starters on the offensive line. Nick Allegretti and Andrew Wylie, both former Kansas City Chiefs, are potential trade candidates. The Commanders may look to deal from this surplus, especially as their season continues to falter.
In Baltimore, the Ravens have struggled significantly, currently sitting at 1-5. If the team does not turn things around quickly, tight end Mark Andrews could be traded. With a contract that runs through 2025 and a base salary of over $3.5 million, his performance this season—averaging just 8.3 yards per catch—could impact the return Baltimore might receive.
The Cleveland Browns face similar dilemmas. Pro Bowl guards Joel Bitonio and Wyatt Teller are both in contract years. While they are crucial for protecting rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel, their value as rentals could tempt contenders looking to bolster their offensive lines. However, both trades could result in significant dead money for the team.
Top Players Likely to Generate Buzz
Defensive players are also drawing attention as the Dolphins consider moving edge rushers Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips. With injuries limiting their effectiveness, the Dolphins may opt to trade them while their value remains intact. Currently at 1-6, the team might be looking to reshape its future.
On the offensive side, the New York Jets face a difficult decision regarding running back Breece Hall. With a winless record and approaching a contract year, the Jets must evaluate whether Hall is worth a second contract or if trading him could yield valuable draft picks.
The New Orleans Saints have a rich history of strong defensive players, and linebacker Demario Davis could be on the market as well. At 36 years old, his leadership and experience may attract interest from contending teams. His current salary stands at $6.5 million, making him a viable asset for teams needing a solid inside linebacker.
Another player to watch is Maxx Crosby of the Las Vegas Raiders. As the team’s standout defensive end, Crosby could fetch a first-round pick if the Raiders decide to rebuild. With his contract extended recently, the timing of a potential trade remains uncertain, but his value is undeniable.
As the deadline draws nearer, teams will weigh their options carefully. The landscape of the league could shift dramatically with strategic trades, influencing the playoff race and long-term team structures. Each of these players carries significant potential to impact both their current teams and those looking to make a playoff push.
