Lawyer Warns of Trump’s Election Manipulation Plans for 2026
URGENT UPDATE: Constitutional lawyer David French has issued a stark warning about President Donald Trump’s potential plans to unlawfully manipulate the upcoming 2026 midterm elections. In a compelling op-ed published in The New York Times on Sunday, French expressed grave concerns over Trump’s disregard for the law and the alarming influence he may wield over election outcomes.
French argues that Trump commands an “obedient Congress” and is backed by a radicalized base of tens of millions who continue to believe his false narratives. “I fear that millions of citizens are still too complacent. They aren’t aware of the peril we face,” he wrote, emphasizing the urgency of public awareness as election season approaches.
The lawyer highlighted historical precedents, notably the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot, which was incited by Trump’s persistent false claims of a “rigged” 2020 election. More troubling is recent evidence suggesting Trump is actively working to influence future election results, including an FBI raid on a Georgia election center linked to Tulsi Gabbard, Trump’s former director of national intelligence.
French pointed out that Trump’s ongoing mass deportation operations, which have been criticized for racially profiling suspects, could further suppress voter turnout. “These actions instill fear among nonwhite Americans, potentially discouraging them from participating in the electoral process,” he warned.
Moreover, Trump continues to amplify his false narrative regarding the 2020 election, recently suggesting through social media that Italian satellites hacked American voting machines. “You may realize that Trump can unlawfully influence an election without explicitly rigging the count,” French cautioned. “By deterring his enemies from coming to the polls, he can engineer the outcomes he seeks.”
French’s commentary serves as a critical alarm bell for American voters. “Consider this to be something like a fire drill. It’s an alarm, one of thousands that should be ringing across the country. MAGA’s acts of aggression are already intimidating,” he noted, underscoring the need for citizens to stay vigilant and informed as the election approaches.
As the situation develops, the spotlight remains on Trump’s influence in the political arena and the potential ramifications for voter participation. French’s urgent message calls for immediate action and awareness among Americans as they navigate the upcoming electoral landscape.
