Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police responded shortly after midnight to reports of juveniles attempting to access parked cars in the Eden Park Gardens neighborhood.

Upon arrival, police discovered an unoccupied Kia Sorento with a broken window parked on Albany Avenue. As officers approached, the suspects fled on foot, leading to several pursuits through the residential area. Ultimately, the police apprehended all four individuals without further incident.

During the investigation, authorities recovered various items, including tools, gloves, and headlamps, which are believed to have been used in the attempted thefts. Police confirmed that the Kia Sorento had been reported stolen from a community in nearby Wilmington. Additionally, a second Kia with a damaged window was found parked nearby, suggesting a broader pattern of vehicle-related crimes in the vicinity.

The suspects, identified as three males aged 14 and one male aged 16, all from Wilmington, face several charges. These include attempted theft of a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, conspiracy in the second degree, resisting arrest, and criminal mischief. Investigators suspect that this group may be linked to other thefts or attempted thefts in the New Castle area.
