Frank Wyatt Dunn, a respected agronomist and community leader, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, at the age of 89. His lifelong contributions to agriculture and his dedication to community service left an indelible mark on those who knew him. Dunn was not only a builder of tools and machines but also of relationships and organizations that fostered growth and connection.

Born on February 18, 1936, Frank demonstrated an innate talent for construction and repair from an early age. His ability to create, maintain, and innovate ranged from farm machinery to household fixtures, showcasing his versatility and skill. However, Dunn’s true legacy extended beyond his technical prowess; it lay in his commitment to serving people and his community.

A Legacy in Agronomy and Leadership

For four decades, Frank Dunn served as the general manager of a leading agronomy research facility. Under his leadership, the facility made significant strides in selective breeding techniques, aimed at enhancing crop resilience and yield. His work contributed to advancing sustainable agriculture, supporting generations of farmers and scientists in their efforts to improve food production and environmental stewardship.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dunn’s influence reached far into the community through his involvement with the Lions Club. He was a lifelong member, serving as District Governor in 1991. Frank shared a profound partnership with his beloved wife, Marilee Dunn, for over 64 years. Marilee passed away just six months prior to Frank, and their relationship was the foundation of a life rich in love, laughter, and mutual support. Frank is survived by his two sons, Mike and David, his daughter-in-law Cathy, and two grandsons, Ryan and Will. He was looking forward to welcoming his first great-grandchild in February, a new addition to a family that he cherished deeply.

A celebration of Frank Dunn’s life will take place on November 25, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the Woodland Lion Banquet Hall. Friends, family, and all who were touched by his kindness and generosity are invited to honor the man who built so much for his community and left a legacy of hope and possibility.
