HealthSpring Unveils Medicare Advantage Plans for Houston Seniors
HealthSpring recently announced its new Medicare Advantage plans tailored for seniors in Houston, designed to provide financial relief and comprehensive healthcare options. During an interview with Derrick Shore on Houston Life, Tiffany Frink detailed the highlights of these plans, which will be available during the Medicare Annual Election Period.
Key Features of HealthSpring’s 2026 Plans
The new Medicare Advantage plans will take effect on January 1, 2026. Among the standout features is a potential giveback of up to $185 per month on Part B premiums, which could save members as much as $2,220 each year. This financial incentive aims to ease the burden of healthcare costs for many seniors, who often find themselves managing tight budgets.
In addition to the Part B premium giveback, HealthSpring’s offerings include a $0 monthly plan premium, no copays for primary care visits, and low copays for specialist consultations. Many prescription medications will also come with $0 copays, further alleviating costs for seniors. The plans extend beyond basic health coverage; members can access fitness programs, dental, vision, and hearing services, as well as transportation services. HealthSpring is also introducing an innovative rewards program, offering up to $200 for engaging in healthy activities.
Addressing Common Concerns
Frink emphasized the importance of understanding how Medicare Advantage plans work, especially for veterans. A common misconception is that enrolling in a Medicare Advantage plan would result in a loss of military benefits such as VA coverage or TRICARE for Life. In reality, these plans can complement existing military healthcare, providing access to additional doctors and services not covered by VA care.
For those new to Medicare or considering a switch, the Annual Election Period is a critical time for reviewing options. Seniors are encouraged to evaluate their current coverage, including any Annual Notices of Change received from their existing providers. This period allows them to compare plans, ensuring that their chosen coverage aligns with their health needs and financial situations.
HealthSpring, a new brand backed by Health Care Service Corporation, one of the largest customer-owned health insurers in the United States, aims to be a reliable partner for members navigating their Medicare options. With a team of licensed agents available at 855-552-0666, seniors can receive personalized assistance in exploring the best plan for their needs.
As the Medicare Annual Election Period approaches, understanding the nuances of available plans is crucial for seniors in Houston. HealthSpring’s commitment to providing comprehensive, affordable healthcare options positions it as a valuable resource for those seeking to enhance their health and financial well-being.
