SpaceX Launches 29 Satellites, Ties Annual Record Early Sunday
UPDATE: SpaceX has just completed a successful launch of its Falcon 9 rocket, marking a significant milestone in the race for orbital missions. The rocket lifted off from Kennedy Space Center’s Launch Pad 39-A at 3:10 a.m. on November 9, 2025, carrying 29 Starlink satellites. This achievement ties the Space Coast’s annual orbital launch record, emphasizing SpaceX’s dominance in the aerospace industry.
The launch was initially delayed by a day due to adverse weather conditions that impacted the booster recovery area. However, the Falcon 9’s first stage booster made a successful recovery landing on the droneship A Shortfall of Gravitas, stationed in the Atlantic Ocean. This flight marks the 28th mission for this particular booster, showcasing its reliability and effectiveness in the field.
As of now, SpaceX has executed 88 of the 93 launches this year, tying the previous record set in 2024. Meanwhile, the United Launch Alliance has conducted four missions, while Blue Origin has made one. Notably, Blue Origin is preparing for its own launch attempt later today, with a window from 2:45 to 4:13 p.m.. If successful, this launch could break the Space Coast record, further intensifying competition among space launch providers.
The implications of these developments are significant. With SpaceX, ULA, and Blue Origin combined, the trio is on track to surpass 100 launches by year’s end, underscoring a rapidly evolving space landscape. These achievements not only highlight advancements in technology but also point to greater accessibility to space for various applications, including communication and scientific research.
The successful launching of the Falcon 9 and the potential for Blue Origin to set a new record later today are moments of excitement within the aerospace community and beyond. Enthusiasts and industry watchers are encouraged to stay tuned for updates, as the competition heats up and new frontiers in space exploration are being pushed forward.
