Madison County Announces 2025 Photo Contest Winners in Wampsville
Madison County has revealed the winners of its 2025 Photo Contest, with April Lewin from Canastota taking home the grand prize. Lewin’s photograph, titled “Old barn in winter on Jones Rd. in Erieville, NY,” captures the essence of the town of Nelson and the beauty of Madison County. Her work will grace the cover of the 2026 Madison County Calendar, and she received a $200 gift card for the Peterboro Table in Morrisville.
The contest, which saw a total of 160 submissions from approximately 65 different photographers, showcases the unique features of Madison County. The winning images from each town highlight the diverse landscapes and community spirit that define the region.

Each town in Madison County had its own winning entry, further celebrating local talent. The winners include:

- Town of DeRuyter: Tirzah Wicks
- Town of Eaton: Melissa Lynch
- Town of Cazenovia: Julie Wallace
- Town of Smithfield: Joanne Hurst
- Town of Stockbridge: Jacey Pokorny

- Town of Georgetown: Gary Dixon
- Town of Madison: Diane Fenton
- Town of Fenner: Denise Adams
- Town of Brookfield: Darlene Nelson
- City of Oneida: Caleb Cassulis
- Town of Lincoln: Abigale Egger
- Town of Hamilton: Arthur Foley
These photographs will be displayed in the hallway leading to the Board of Supervisors Chambers at the Madison County Office Building in Wampsville, allowing the public to appreciate the creativity and talent of local photographers.
2026 Calendar Sales and Future Contests
The winning photographs will also be featured in the 2026 Madison County Calendar, which is now available for purchase. The calendar, which includes 15 months of beautiful imagery, can be bought for $5 at the County Office Building.
