Aidy Bryant made a triumphant return to Saturday Night Live on October 7, 2023, marking her first appearance at Studio 8H since she left the iconic sketch comedy show in May 2022. Her visit was a heartfelt send-off for fellow cast member Bowen Yang, who is departing the show after a successful run.

Bryant and Yang revived their beloved characters, the Trend Forecasters, during the Weekend Update segment. The duo humorously claimed to have sourced the latest trends from a “very huge, sweaty, rock hard computer.” Among the trends discussed was the highly anticipated film Rush Hour 4, with Yang quipping, “Thanks, Trump,” eliciting laughter from the audience.

Bryant’s tenure on SNL spanned from Season 38 to Season 47, during which she became a fan favorite. Although she left the show last year, her return to the stage was met with enthusiasm from fans and cast alike. Yang expressed his reluctance to continue the Trend Forecasters segment without Bryant, stating, “Honestly, I would never dream of doing it without Aidy.”

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Yang conveyed his hope for Bryant’s return to the show as a host. He remarked, “I feel like the next time we do it is when Aidy comes back to host. I feel like that day will be much sooner than we think.” His admiration for Bryant’s talent and potential in the entertainment industry was evident as he added, “She is just going to be everyone’s boss at some point in show business.”

Bryant’s return to SNL has reignited conversations about her impact on the series and the comedy landscape. As fans and colleagues celebrate her contributions, the anticipation for Yang’s next chapter is equally palpable as he leaves behind a legacy marked by humor and creativity.

As the show continues to evolve, the dynamic between Bryant and Yang will likely leave a lasting impression on the audience, keeping the spirit of their comedy alive even as they embark on new endeavors.
