HBO’s ‘It: Welcome to Derry’ Releases 4K Physical Edition May 2026
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has confirmed the physical release of the highly anticipated series, It: Welcome to Derry. The show will be available in a 4K UHD limited edition Steelbook, Blu-ray, and DVD formats starting on May 5, 2026. This release follows the conclusion of its first season and offers fans a chance to own the chilling adaptation of Stephen King‘s work.
The complete first season includes a wealth of bonus features, providing insights into the making of the show. Among these, viewers can look forward to an exclusive featurette and three extended behind-the-scenes segments. The season itself comprises eight episodes that explore a darker narrative surrounding King’s infamous character, Pennywise the Dancing Clown.
Set in the eerie town of Derry, the series dives into the origin story of Pennywise, portrayed once again by Bill Skarsgård. Directed by Andy Muschietti, who co-created the show alongside Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fuchs, Welcome to Derry takes audiences back to 1962, revealing how Pennywise became the terrifying figure known in King’s universe.
With a talented ensemble cast that includes Taylour Paige, Stephen Rider, and Matilda Lawler, the series not only pays homage to the original novel but also expands on its lore. The show explores the dynamics of The Losers’ Club, a group central to King’s narrative, and their encounters with the malevolent force that plagues their town.
Future of ‘It: Welcome to Derry’
The Muschietti siblings have expressed aspirations for Welcome to Derry to evolve into a multi-season series. They aim to examine various cycles of terror as Pennywise awakens in the town over the years. Although a second season has not yet been confirmed, the success of the series on streaming platforms suggests that an announcement may be forthcoming.
Fans eagerly await the opportunity to bring It: Welcome to Derry: The Complete First Season into their homes on May 5, 2026. As the release date approaches, anticipation builds for what lies ahead in the thrilling universe that continues to captivate audiences.
