Loveland Hosts Festive Events: Menorah Lighting and Holiday Shows
The Loveland community is gearing up for a vibrant Thursday filled with festive celebrations and entertainment on December 7, 2023. Events range from a traditional menorah lighting ceremony to screenings of classic holiday films, offering something for everyone.
Menorah Lighting and Holiday Festivities
The evening begins with a Menorah lighting at Peters Park, located outside the Loveland Museum, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. This event celebrates Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights, where attendees can witness the lighting of a giant menorah. The celebration will feature traditional Jewish holiday music and an array of Hanukkah foods. The event is free and open to the public, welcoming all who wish to join in the festivities. For more information, attendees can contact the organizers at 970-407-1613 or visit JewishNCO.com/MenorahLightings.
Following the menorah lighting, the Rialto Theater Center will host a screening of the beloved holiday classic, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” at 7 p.m. Tickets for this nostalgic film are priced at $5. For those interested in attending, additional details are available at rialtotheatercenter.org or by calling 970-962-2120.
A Range of Activities for Everyone
For those seeking more holiday cheer, various activities are planned throughout the evening. The desk chair workspace will feature the Dave Beegle and The Alcantar Family Holiday Show from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., showcasing holiday classics and solo performances, with tickets starting at $17.85.
Another popular attraction is the Christmas Walk in the Woods, taking place nightly from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. through December 31, except for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Located at The Savage Woods on Savage Road, this event will include visits from Santa and carolers on select nights. Admission varies, with lights-only evenings priced at $7 per person and nights featuring Santa and music at $13 for adults and $7 for children aged 6-9. Children under 5 can enter for free.
Other events of interest include the All is Bright Tour at Chapungu Sculpture Park, a stunning holiday lights display open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. nightly through January 1, which is free to attend.
For those looking for interactive fun, several venues will host game nights, including Texas Hold’Em at Charlie L’s Pub from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. and trivia nights at various locations such as the MeadKrieger Meadery and Loveland Aleworks.
Additionally, community members can participate in ongoing programs such as the Homeward Alliance Mobile Laundry service at the Loveland Public Library from 9 a.m. to noon, which offers free laundry services for those in need.
With a diverse array of events, Loveland is set to create a festive atmosphere that brings together the community for celebration and joy throughout the holiday season.
