After the game, Hughes reflected on his performance, noting his frustration with scoring fewer goals than expected despite generating numerous chances. “Honestly, I just feel like I’ve had chances to score, Grade-A’s every game, and it just hasn’t gone for me,” he said, indicating a determination to improve.

In a pivotal moment during overtime, Wild goaltender Filip Gustavsson made a strategic play to pass the puck to Kirill Kaprizov, who assisted Mats Zuccarello in scoring the decisive goal.
