Protester at “No Kings” Rally Calls for Trump’s Death, Shocking Remarks Ignite Controversy
UPDATE: A protester at the “No Kings for Peaceful Action” rally in Portland, Maine, has sparked outrage by declaring she “absolutely” wishes President Donald Trump were dead. The shocking statement was made during a global series of protests this past weekend, aimed at denouncing what participants termed “authoritarianism” under Trump’s administration.
During an interview with reporter Jon Fetherston, the protester expressed her hope that reading Trump’s obituary would be the best birthday gift she could receive. “I hope that I see the obituary that we’re all waiting for tomorrow,” she stated, adding, “Yes, absolutely,” when asked if she wished for the President’s death.
Fetherston later condemned her remarks on social media, labeling them as “unacceptable” and “chilling.” He noted, “There was a time in this country when talk like that had real consequences. Now it’s cheered on. Chilling. Unacceptable. Time to bring accountability back.”
The “No Kings” movement, which launched in June 2025, claims to advocate for “national resistance to tyranny” and “defend democracy” against what they view as Trump’s oppressive policies. Protesters across the U.S. have made headlines for their extreme rhetoric, with some even threatening members of the Trump administration.
In one incident in Seattle, Washington, a protester proclaimed a desire to kill White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller. Meanwhile, in Chicago, Illinois, another protester made a “neck shot” gesture towards counter-protesters supporting Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.
The protests have seen a wide range of slogans and signs aimed at rejecting Trump’s policies, with many participants echoing sentiments of anger and frustration towards his administration. The “No Kings” website articulates its mission to combat what it calls “tyranny,” accusing Trump of targeting immigrant families, detaining individuals without warrants, and threatening the democratic electoral process.
As the situation unfolds, the impact of such extreme sentiments raises questions about political discourse in America. The rhetoric displayed at these rallies highlights the deep divisions and heightened emotions surrounding the current political landscape.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR: As protests continue to gain momentum, the potential for further escalation in rhetoric and actions remains high. Observers will be closely monitoring how officials and the public respond to these calls for violence against political figures, and what ramifications may follow for the participants.
Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story as the “No Kings” movement continues to draw attention across the nation.
