St. Johns County Library Concludes St. Johns Reads with Silent Disco
The St. Johns County Public Library System is set to host a silent disco today, marking the conclusion of its annual St. Johns Reads program. This unique event will take place at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre’s Front Porch, where attendees will enjoy music delivered through Hush Hush wireless headphones.
The silent disco will feature two distinct sessions designed to cater to different audiences. A family-friendly dance will run from 18:00 to 19:30, followed by an 18-and-over session from 20:00 to 21:30. This year’s event draws inspiration from the book An Immense World by Ed Yong, which delves into how animals perceive their surroundings.
Offering a free entry, the event encourages community participation, with food and beverages available for purchase from various onsite vendors. Financial support for the event comes from the library system, local Friends of the Library groups, and the St. Johns Cultural Council.
The amphitheatre is conveniently located at 1340C A1A S., St. Augustine, Florida, making it an accessible venue for local residents and visitors alike.
This innovative approach to celebrating literature through an engaging, interactive event illustrates the library’s commitment to fostering a love of reading and community involvement. By combining literature with music and dance, the St. Johns County Public Library System is creating a memorable experience for all attendees, reinforcing the importance of cultural events in vibrant communities.
As the silent disco unfolds, participants will not only celebrate the joy of reading but also enjoy a unique nightlife experience that connects them with fellow book lovers.
