Lovet Pet Health Care Expands with New Grand Rapids Clinic
Lovet Pet Health Care has opened its fourth veterinary clinic in West Michigan, located at 1935 Breton Road SE in Grand Rapids. This expansion follows the launch of its first local hospital in April 2023 at 4290 Lake Michigan Drive NW in Standale. Since then, Lovet has provided care to over 2,200 pets and welcomed 1,900 new pet owners.
In addition to the Standale location, Lovet has established two more clinics in the region. The second hospital opened at 3500 Alpine Ave NW in Walker, and another at 2135 E Beltline Ave NE in Grand Rapids, both inaugurated since mid-October 2023. The rapid growth underscores the demand for veterinary services in the area.
Addressing Financial Barriers to Pet Care
According to Courtney Gruber, President of Lovet Pet Health Care, “Grand Rapids has quickly become one of Lovet’s most vibrant and fast-growing markets.” A significant aspect of their strategy focuses on making veterinary care more accessible. Lovet’s 2025 Checkup Report found that around 86% of pet owners nationwide, and 87% in Michigan, believe that pet ownership positively impacts their mental and emotional well-being. However, the report also indicated that 44% of Michigan pet owners have delayed or skipped veterinary care due to rising costs.
To alleviate these financial concerns, Lovet offers various cost-saving solutions, including a free first exam for all new clients. This approach is designed to ensure that families can access high-quality veterinary care without being burdened by prohibitive costs.
Community Engagement and Job Creation
As part of its commitment to community outreach, Lovet partnered with the Humane Society of West Michigan to sponsor the pet first aid tent at the recent Humane Hustle 5K & Walk. This event encouraged pet owners to build their own first aid kits, aligning with Lovet’s mission to promote pet care education and preparedness among local families.
The clinic’s expansion also creates employment opportunities in the area, with Lovet actively hiring veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support staff across its four West Michigan locations. This recruitment effort is expected to generate approximately 50 local jobs. Interested candidates can apply through Lovet’s website at careers.lovet.com.
Originally known as AZPetVet, Lovet Pet Health Care began as a network of 23 animal hospitals in and around Phoenix, Arizona, and has since expanded to include locations in Chicago and now Grand Rapids. The company’s growth reflects its commitment to providing compassionate and accessible veterinary care to pet owners across the United States.
