Jeremy Pinnell Unveils New Album ‘Decades’ with Shooter Jennings
Kentucky singer-songwriter Jeremy Pinnell has released his latest album, titled Decades, produced by three-time GRAMMY® Award winner Shooter Jennings. The album made its debut on October 31, 2025, and showcases a significant evolution in Pinnell’s sound, eight years after his music was hailed by Rolling Stone as “hardscrabble honky-tonk at its best.”
Pinnell has also unveiled a new single, “Dallas,” described as a rootsy, rockabilly shuffle. The song draws inspiration from a challenging performance in Houston, where “only one person showed up,” Pinnell recalled. The experience led him to contemplate deeper existential questions, which resonate throughout the album.
Exploring Themes of Life and Journey
As Pinnell reflects on his artistic journey, Decades encapsulates his experiences on the road. The album emerges from a time when he was a relentless performer, often writing lyrics between shows. This lifestyle garnered him respect and accolades, but also left him feeling detached from the present moment. His new work offers a poignant look at the contrast between the excitement of touring and the loneliness that often accompanies it.
The album showcases a range of sounds, blending upbeat melodies with introspective lyrics. Tracks such as “Save You” and “Too Much Sugar” highlight his ability to traverse genres, while “Barabbas” and “Come Home To Me” offer moments of reflection. Pinnell’s collaboration with Jennings involved a week of live-in-studio performances, further enriching the album’s authenticity.
Celebrating the Release and Upcoming Tour
To celebrate the release of Decades, Pinnell will host a special album release show on November 1, 2025, at The Southgate House Revival in Newport, KY. Following this event, he will embark on a tour supporting Jason Boland & The Stragglers, with performances scheduled across several states, including stops in Arizona and California.
Pinnell first gained recognition with his debut album, OH/KY, released in 2014. Critics praised his straightforward approach and masterful storytelling. His music, characterized by a blend of classic country elements and personal narratives, continues to resonate with audiences.
