Lace Up for the John Wayne Grit Series 5K in Fort Worth
The John Wayne Grit Series is set to take place in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards on November 8, 2025, featuring a special 5K trail run and walk. This event supports the John Wayne Cancer Foundation (JWCF), which is dedicated to combating cancer through innovative research, education, and patient support. Participants are invited to showcase their endurance while contributing to a cause that promotes strength and resilience.
The 5K course will weave through the iconic Stockyards District, renowned for its rich Western heritage and vibrant cowboy culture. This scenic route provides an ideal setting for runners and walkers to embody the spirit of John Wayne while actively participating in the fight against cancer.
Registration is currently open, and participants can secure their spots for the event. Those who register can choose to pay a standard entry fee or opt for a free entry by committing to fundraising efforts for JWCF. All participants will receive a John Wayne Grit Series shirt and a finisher mug. Additionally, they will have opportunities to earn exclusive rewards from sponsors such as Nathan, Hooey, YETI, Path Projects, and John Wayne Stock & Supply.
Beyond the race, attendees can enjoy the world-famous Fort Worth Stockyards cattle drive, which occurs daily at 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.. The area also boasts historic saloons, shops, and museums, where visitors can experience live country music and Western entertainment. Participants can celebrate their achievements with local cuisine and share a toast to their grit.
The John Wayne Grit Series is not just a race; it is a gathering of community members united in the fight against cancer. Runners and walkers are encouraged to invite friends and family to join them in this meaningful event. A promotional code, GRIT15, is available for a 15% discount on registration fees.
