Authorities have charged Quintin Webb, Shaw’s brother-in-law, with second-degree murder. Webb is currently held on a $200,000 bond.

The incident occurred around 18:15 on Saturday evening on 9th Street near Mulberry Avenue in Mamou. According to the Mamou Police Department, the confrontation between Shaw and Webb escalated, resulting in Webb allegedly shooting Shaw in the neck. Emergency responders transported Shaw to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Police investigators recovered a firearm believed to be the weapon used in the shooting at the scene. They indicated that the gun is suspected to have been stolen.
