Actor Daniel Stern, renowned for his role as Marv in the beloved holiday film series Home Alone, is currently facing legal challenges due to a charge of soliciting prostitution. The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that the charge was filed on January 12, 2026, following an incident that allegedly took place in Camarillo, California, on December 10, 2025.

According to officials, Stern was cited at a motel in Camarillo, leading to his release shortly after the citation was issued. A spokesperson for the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office stated, “The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office submitted their ticket or citation to us, and it is being reviewed by our prosecutors.”

Stern’s arraignment is scheduled for January 13, 2026. As of now, no further details regarding the circumstances of the citation have been disclosed to the public. The actor has not released a statement regarding the charges.

Best known for his portrayal of one half of the bumbling burglar duo in the 1990 hit film Home Alone and its 1992 sequel, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Stern has enjoyed a diverse career in film and television. His extensive filmography includes notable performances in Diner, Hannah and Her Sisters, My Blue Heaven, City Slickers, City Slickers 2: The Legend of Curly’s Gold, and Very Bad Things.

In recent years, Stern has largely stepped back from the spotlight. He resides on a ranch in California, where he dedicates time to farming and sculpture. Reflecting on his earlier successes, Stern mentioned that he earned “enough money that I didn’t have to work,” allowing him to pursue his passions outside of acting.

As the legal proceedings unfold, the entertainment community watches closely, given Stern’s prominent status in the film industry. The outcome of this case may have implications not only for the actor personally but also for his legacy in Hollywood.
