Disneyland is set to introduce a unique wedding venue at the Haunted Mansion starting in July 2024. This new offering will allow couples to exchange vows in a location steeped in atmospheric tales of love, loss, and mystery, catering to those seeking a themed experience that embraces the darker side of romance. The wedding packages range from $25,000 to $40,000, according to the official Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings and Honeymoons website.

The Haunted Mansion, a beloved attraction at the park, will now host ceremonies in its new courtyard. This venue can accommodate up to 25 guests for intimate early morning weddings held before the park opens. The packages include an officiant, decor, and photography, with pricing varying based on the day of the week.

New Venue and Themes

Disney has recently revamped the narrative surrounding the Haunted Mansion, particularly the character of Constance Hatchway. Once depicted as an axe murderer, she is now presented as a mournful bride, mourning the loss of her husbands. This transformation aligns with the romantic yet eerie atmosphere that many couples may find appealing for their weddings.

In addition to the courtyard, couples can also opt for ceremonies inside the Haunted Mansion Parlor cocktail lounge aboard the new Disney Destiny cruise ship, available starting on May 14, 2024. This addition reflects Disneyland’s ongoing commitment to expanding its wedding offerings.

The Haunted Mansion wedding venue joins a variety of other locations across the Disneyland Resort, including the Fantasy Faire Garden and the Disney Animation Building. The Magnolia Park Gazebo and Magnolia Park Terrace near the Haunted Mansion have also been added to the lineup, providing even more options for couples.

Cost Breakdown and Add-Ons

The base wedding packages do not cover all aspects of a ceremony. Couples can expect additional costs for services such as dinner for 25 guests, which ranges from $4,125 to $5,250. Floral arrangements and bouquets can add another $7,500, while appearances by characters like Mickey and Minnie are priced at $2,750. For those looking for a grand entrance, a Crystal Coach carriage rental costs around $4,500.

Disney wedding planners will manage these services, ensuring that every detail is attended to. Notably, the custom wedding cake, created by Disneyland’s skilled pastry chefs, is also an integral part of the wedding experience.

For couples looking for options outside the Haunted Mansion, the Sleeping Beauty Castle Forecourt remains the most premium venue, starting at a substantial $100,000. More budget-friendly options are available at the Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, with packages starting at $15,000.

Disneyland’s expansion into themed weddings, particularly at the Haunted Mansion, reflects a growing trend where couples seek unique and personalized experiences for their big day. As the park prepares for this new venture, it remains to be seen how the enchanting yet spooky atmosphere will attract couples looking to tie the knot in a setting that is anything but ordinary.
