Michael Bay Takes Legal Action Against Women Over Hit-and-Run
Michael Bay, the acclaimed director known for blockbuster franchises such as Transformers and Bad Boys, has initiated a lawsuit against two women, alleging that they caused extensive damage to his property in Bel Air, California, during a hit-and-run incident. The crash reportedly took place in September 2024, while Bay was away from home.
According to reports from TMZ, the two women, identified as Angelica Silver and Shayra LaFuente, were driving a 2016 Cadillac ATS when the vehicle crashed through the gates of Bay’s estate. The impact caused significant damage, including to the front gate camera system, irrigation pipes, and various landscaping features. Bay claims that the total cost of repairs amounts to approximately $93,000.
The incident has been described as chaotic. LaFuente allegedly drove the car at an unsafe speed while under the influence, according to Bay’s claims. Silver is accused of allowing LaFuente to operate the vehicle under these conditions, positioning her as an accomplice in the situation.
As reported by TMZ, the crash resulted in the Cadillac damaging not only Bay’s property but also a public streetlight, which was knocked down during the incident. Law enforcement utilized debris from the car to trace the individuals involved, leading to Bay’s decision to pursue legal action.
In his lawsuit, Bay is seeking compensation for the repair costs and any additional damages resulting from the incident. This legal action comes after the director’s recent projects, including the 2022 film Ambulance and a documentary titled We Are Storror, released in 2025.
The outcome of this case remains to be seen as it unfolds in the legal system, but it highlights the vulnerabilities that even high-profile individuals face regarding property safety and personal accountability.
