Nicola Peltz Beckham Takes Center Stage in ‘Prima’ Ballerina Film
Nicola Peltz Beckham has been cast as the lead in the upcoming indie drama Prima, a film centered around the world of ballet. The 31-year-old actress announced the news on her social media, expressing her excitement about working with a talented ensemble cast and crew. She stated, “I’m truly honored that this incredible cast and crew came together for Prima. It still feels unreal that my wildest dreams came true – that these extraordinarily talented creatives joined forces to bring to life a story that first began in my dreams.”
The movie will feature Peltz Beckham as Margo, a dedicated prima ballerina whose life begins to unravel under the pressure of her career and personal circumstances. Her character is raised by a strict grandmother, portrayed by the acclaimed actress Faye Dunaway. The plot thickens when the head of Margo’s ballet company, played by Jack Huston, marries a contemporary choreographer, creating tension and a power struggle within the company. This disruption forces Margo to confront her own choices and question whether the sacrifices made for her career are truly worth it.
Supporting Cast and Creative Team
In addition to Peltz Beckham, Huston, and Dunaway, the film boasts a strong supporting cast, including Mira Sorvino. The screenplay for Prima is penned by Jenny Taylor-Whitehorn, who adapted a story originally created by Peltz Beckham, alongside Allie Avital and Alia Azamat Ashkenazi. The film marks the directorial debut of the Morelli Brothers, Luca and Alessandro Morelli.
Currently in production, Prima aims to explore the emotional and psychological challenges faced by dancers, particularly in a competitive environment. The narrative promises to resonate with audiences, highlighting the struggles of making choices that can alter one’s life trajectory.
Peltz Beckham is also set to appear in the forthcoming series The Beauty, produced by Ryan Murphy, further solidifying her rising status in the entertainment industry. Fans can look forward to seeing her in both projects as she continues to expand her portfolio in film and television.
