Community Mourns Loss of Shelley K. Sullivan, 2025

Shelley K. Sullivan, a beloved member of her community, passed away on the morning of November 29, 2025, after a brief and aggressive battle with cancer. Her unexpected passing has left family and friends in shock, but they find comfort in the belief that she is now at peace with God.

Born in South Bend, Washington, Shelley was the eldest child of Jack C. Horne and Brenda (Williamson) Seifert. At just two months old, her family relocated to Pullman, a city that would become integral to her identity. Growing up, Shelley forged many lifelong friendships, maintaining connections through gatherings and reunions after graduating from Pullman High School.

In the early 1990s, Shelley met George Lin, and they married in 1996. Their marriage was short-lived, leading Shelley to focus on her education in nursing. While working at a Starbucks in Spokane, she met Shaun Sullivan, whom she wed on March 17, 2007. Following her passion for healthcare, she completed her nursing degree at Washington State University, graduating in May 2009.

Shelley’s adventurous spirit and warmth touched everyone she encountered, from family to new acquaintances. Her greatest joy came from her family, especially her nephews and nieces, as well as her cherished dogs. Known for spoiling her loved ones, she created a nurturing environment filled with love and laughter.

She is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, along with her sisters Stephanie Horne and Jessica (Seifert) Greco, as well as her beloved dogs Bailey, Ella, and Gidget. Shelley is survived by her husband, Shaun, her mother-in-law Paule Sullivan, and sister-in-law Amy Sullivan, her mother Brenda (Dan), her father Jack (Marcy), her sisters Tricia (Greg) James and Jill Seifert, her brothers David (Kelsey) Horne and Ryan Horne, along with numerous cherished nephews and nieces.

The community will gather to honor Shelley’s life at a service on January 17, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Pullman Presbyterian Church, located at 1630 NE Stadium Way, Pullman. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to one of Shelley’s favored causes in her memory.

The outpouring of condolences, prayers, and support from the community has provided solace to her family during this difficult time, illustrating the profound impact Shelley had on those around her.
