Harris Health Advances New Operations Center in Texas Medical Center

Harris Health has made significant progress in its ambitious multi-year project, marked by the recent placement of a final steel beam on November 11, 2023. This milestone signifies the topping off of the new Holly Hall Operations Center, located at 2525 Holly Hall St., Houston. The four-story facility, encompassing approximately 145,275 square feet, is slated to open by late 2026 and will enhance the county’s healthcare system.

The new operations center is designed to consolidate pharmacy operations and support essential services, including emergency medical services. According to John Martinez, Media Relations Specialist at Harris Health, the facility will incorporate advanced automation systems and technology to meet both current and future pharmacy needs. This includes centralized sterile compounding and inventory distribution services aimed at maximizing economies of scale and improving operational efficiency.

Currently, Harris Health manages 16 outpatient pharmacies situated within its health centers and specialty clinics. The hospital’s clinical pharmacy specialists provide care for a range of conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, asthma, heart failure, anticoagulation therapy, and HIV/AIDS. The establishment of the Holly Hall Operations Center is expected to bolster these services significantly.

Funding for the $60 million center is sourced from Harris Health’s operational budget, reflecting the organization’s commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure in the region. The new facility’s capabilities will not only streamline pharmacy operations but also ensure that the healthcare system can effectively respond to evolving community health needs.
