FAMU Announces Exciting Homecoming Football Game for 2026
Florida A&M University (FAMU) has officially scheduled its homecoming football game for the 2026 season. The highly anticipated event will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Ken Riley Field located in Bragg Memorial Stadium, where FAMU will face off against the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions, a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference. The kickoff time for the game has yet to be announced.
FAMU’s homecoming events are known for attracting large crowds to Tallahassee, with previous games often resulting in sold-out stadiums. During last year’s homecoming, the stadium was filled to nearly its capacity, with 19,465 fans attending as the Rattlers secured a thrilling 33-28 victory against the Alcorn State Braves. The Rattlers have a strong homecoming tradition, having won seven consecutive games since their last loss in 2017 to North Carolina A&T.
This year’s homecoming will be particularly special as it marks a celebration for newly appointed head football coach Quinn Fordham Gray Sr., who was announced as the 20th full-time head football coach of the Rattlers in December 2025. Gray, a celebrated former quarterback for FAMU from 1997 to 2001, achieved record-setting performances and led the team to multiple Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) titles and Black College Football National Championships.
In the upcoming 2026 season, FAMU will play a total of 12 games, with six scheduled to take place at home. The season will kick off on August 29, 2026, as the Rattlers take on Albany State, a team Gray previously coached from 2022 to 2025. This follows a challenging 5-7 season for FAMU, marking their first losing record since 2017 under former head coach James Colzie III.
As excitement builds for the 2026 homecoming, fans are encouraged to make travel arrangements early to ensure they can participate in this significant event in FAMU’s athletic calendar. With the combination of fan enthusiasm and the rich traditions associated with homecoming, the upcoming game promises to be a memorable occasion for the Rattlers and their supporters.
