UPDATE: The Georgia Bulldogs baseball team has been ranked No. 13 in the USA TODAY Sports Top 25 preseason baseball coaches poll, just announced on February 3, 2026. This places Georgia among the elite as they prepare for the upcoming season, which begins at home against Wright State on February 13.

This year, head coach Wes Johnson enters his third season with heightened expectations after leading the Bulldogs to a 43-17 record last year. The team reached the NCAA regional but fell short in their quest for a championship in Athens. As one of seven Southeastern Conference (SEC) teams in the top 15, Georgia stands alongside powerhouse programs, with LSU topping the list as No. 1.

The SEC continues to dominate the rankings, with other teams including No. 6 Mississippi State, No. 9 Auburn, and No. 15 Tennessee. Georgia also received recognition in other polls, being ranked No. 6 by Baseball America and No. 15 by both D1Baseball and Perfect Game.

Returning to the field, the Bulldogs bring back key infielders Kolby Branch and Tre Phelps, along with catcher Daniel Jackson. The team has bolstered its roster with impressive transfer pitchers, including Joey Volchko from Stanford and Dylan Vigue from Michigan.

As the season approaches, excitement builds among fans and players alike. The upcoming opener against Wright State is poised to be a thrilling start, with Georgia looking to capitalize on their strong preseason positioning. Fans are eager to see how this talented roster, under Coach Johnson, will perform against formidable opponents throughout the season.

Stay tuned for more updates as Georgia baseball aims for a successful season, hoping to climb even higher in the rankings and make a significant impact in the NCAA tournament.
