Four U.S. Crew Members Confirmed Dead in Iraq Plane Crash
Four crew members of a U.S. military refueling plane have been confirmed dead following a crash in western Iraq on Thursday. The incident occurred at approximately 2 p.m. ET while the aircraft was involved in operations related to Iran. According to the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), two other crew members remain unaccounted for, and rescue efforts are ongoing.
In an official statement released on social media platform X, CENTCOM indicated that the crash of the KC-135 was not caused by hostile or friendly fire. The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation. CENTCOM noted the involvement of two aircraft during the operation, with one successfully landing.
